Filing down the ears

Today I finally managed to file down the "ears" on my La Marzocco portafilter by approximately 0.4mm. It now locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which is great for convenience but may also have implications in terms of the puck to group showerscreen clearance. The filing is pretty straight forward - brass is a soft metal, but the chrome is slightly harder. I managed not to leave any significant marks or scratches on the side of the PF bowl. Also, I am not a big fan of the adjustable spout and a new, open style La Marzocco double spout should be on its way.
